How to sell your website or SaaS

From your website listing to an agreed domain and code handover, with escrow funding confirmed before you transfer access.

Your sale, step by step
  1. Step 1

Put your product and performance in view

Add your website URL, product screenshots, revenue, net profit, and asking price. Describe your technology and included assets, and add traffic or SaaS customer metrics where relevant. Listing is free; complete any required verification and submit for review.

  2. Step 2

    Review offers. Define the handover.

Use chat to answer buyer questions about revenue, running costs, and the product. Agree the price, domain, code, and other included assets. Set out hosting, billing, and customer support responsibilities before starting escrow.

  3. Step 3

    Wait for confirmed escrow funding

Your buyer funds the escrow. Wait until Scrowise confirms funding before transferring your domain, code, or admin access. A payment receipt upload alone is not confirmation. Funds remain held until the release requirements are met.

  4. Step 4

Complete the transfer. Confirm the handover.

Follow the agreed plan for your domain, code, hosting, and access. Escrow Pro provides an agent to guide the handover; with Plus, coordinate directly with your buyer. Required completion checks come before payout processing.

Step 1 of 4: Put your product and performance in view

Agree what transfers.
Plan how it keeps running.

A website sale is more than a domain change. Agree which code, content, hosting, and access are included. For SaaS, plan billing and customer support with your buyer, check provider requirements, and define what a completed handover looks like.

Before you sell
your website or SaaS

Practical answers about your financials, website ownership, and business handover.

Yes. Enter 0 revenue and accurate net profit, including any loss. Select 'Not monetized' where applicable. Describe your website or SaaS, its users, and included assets. Listings are subject to review.

Enter average monthly revenue and average monthly net profit separately in USD. Use the same last three completed months for both: add each month's figure, then divide by three. Net profit should reflect operating expenses, such as hosting, software, marketing, and support. Keep supporting records ready for buyer questions.

Website listings have an optional monthly visitors field. Web apps and SaaS can include monthly active users. SaaS listings also have optional paying customers, monthly recurring revenue (MRR), and monthly customer churn fields. These are figures you enter, not automatically connected analytics. MRR is separate from average monthly revenue.

Yes. Creating a marketplace listing is free. Escrow fees are separate, depend on your plan and deal details, and have minimums. Check current pricing and agree with your buyer whether you, the buyer, or both will pay the escrow fee.

When verification is required, add the supplied TXT record to your domain's DNS. This confirms DNS access, not revenue or code quality. If you cannot access DNS, submit a reason for manual review instead. A review request is not automatic approval; the team must review it before the listing can go live.

If review is required, your website or SaaS listing stays private until approved. While pending, you can privately preview it, edit and resubmit it, or withdraw it to a draft. Complete any required DNS verification or submit a manual review request with your reason before submitting.

Describe your technology stack, included assets, and handover details in the listing. Agree which domain, code, content, hosting, documentation, and access the buyer will receive. For SaaS, discuss billing and customer support too. Check each provider's transfer requirements before promising an account or subscription handover.

Escrow Pro includes a dedicated agent to guide the agreed website or SaaS handover. With Escrow Plus, you coordinate directly with your buyer. You still need an agreed plan for domain, code, hosting, and billing changes; agent guidance is not a managed migration service.

Yes. You can start escrow directly without a marketplace listing. Agree your website or SaaS sale price, included assets, provider requirements, and handover steps with your buyer during deal setup.

Wait until Scrowise confirms funding in escrow, not just that the buyer uploaded a payment receipt. Then follow your agreed website or SaaS handover plan. Keep passwords, API keys, and customer data out of public listing text and screenshots.

Payout processing follows handover confirmation: the agent verifies completion on Pro; both parties confirm on Plus. Payment is not instant. Timing depends on payout processing and any issues raised. An open dispute pauses release while it is reviewed.
